OPERATING MANUAL
8 REMAINING RISKS AND SUGGESTIONS
INSTRUCTIONS FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS AND FIRST AID MEASURES:
Should the user be accidentally hit with corrosive fluids and/or hot liquids, poison gas or anything that may cause serious injury
or death, provide first aid as required by current safety regulations and/or local regulations.
FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES:
Should a fire break out in the work area, with risk of serious injury or death, provide first aid measures as specified by current
regulations and/or local regulations.
Only staff trained in the use of fire extinguishers should use the one available on the machine.
SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR OTHER RISKS:
1.
Operators must use lighting equipment when working in dark environments.
2.
The operator must wear appropriate PPE, such as safety shoes, and be careful when using the machinery on wet flooring
and when getting on or off the additional trolley.
3.
Removal and optional replacement of the filter may lead to inhaling unhealthy particles. Use appropriate PPE designed to
protect the respiratory tract.
4.
Users are prohibited from reconditioning a used filter or from using compressed air to remove dirt.
5.
Ordinary maintenance operations performed according to the manufacturer's instructions are to be considered
fundamental in order to prevent residual risks. Always be observant of the indications prescribed in this manual.
IN THE ST VERSION
1.
Be careful that during the refueling, the flammable fuel (gasoline) is not spilled outside the tank.
2.
In case of the beginnings of a gas leakage, from the carter and not the exhaust pipe situated at the front of the machine,
the operator must, once the leak is spotted, immediately cease all activity and switch off the machine. If capable of doing
so, the operator must carry out the maintenance and repair of the machine. If otherwise, the operator must call specialized
maintenance technicians.
3.
Pay attention to any hot surfaces inside the engine compartment and in the area near the exhaust pipe.
STORAGE:
Special care must be taken in order to secure the machine when parking it on non-flat surfaces: make use of folding wheel
chocks, in addition to regular parking procedure.
Do not use the machine on uneven ground, ramps, near stairs or railings and where slopes exceed 20%.
9 PREPARING TO WORK
1. Prepare the machine for operation (Read chapter 6 "PREPARING THE MACHINE");
2. Turn a quarter clockwise the main switch key to position "ON";
3. Adjust the speed, through the accelerator (CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS - ST VERSION) or by the speed control
(CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS – BT VERSION);
4. For the advancement of the machine, gradually push the forward advancement lever (MACHINE COMPONENTS) of the
handle. To stop the machine simply release the same, and the machine will stop in a few moments. To go backward, pull the
backward advancement lever (MACHINE COMPONENTS) of the handle. The speed rate is proportional to the pressure
exerted on the lever.
WARNING
– The operator's trolley is recommended for long trips only. In case of narrow areas the walk behind use
is recommended. Be careful while going backward with the machine. It is advisable to get off the operator's trolley
before going backward, and remount back on the trolley when maneuvering operations are terminated.
5. To begin sweeping, pull the lever of the central brush (Table CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS) in order to bring it in
contact with the ground. Remember that is ideal to have a brush track width on the floor of 3 cm ca. for all the brush length;
6. Open the vacuum hose hopper, by turning the lever (CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS - ST VERSION or BT VERSION).
7. On the BT battery version machine, it is required to activate on the console the suction switch on the central brush
(CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS - BT VERSION) to vacuum the dust caused by the action of the central brush;
