Process Preparation
4.5 Pre-Washing the Cassette(s) (optional)
Pre-Washing the cassette(s) can be useful to confirm that the tubing connec-
tions are secure before starting ultrafiltration | diafiltration.
Material: 100-200 mL water or buffer
Procedure
Place 100 - 200 mL deionized water or buffer in the feed reservoir.

Start the peristaltic pump with a suitable flow rate (see chapter "6.4 Oper-
t
ating Conditions", page 22).
The flushing process starts.

The pressure indicator should read up to 2.5 bar.

Check the system for leaks.

When approximately 50 - 100 mL of deionized water or buffer is in the per-
t
meate vessel: Stop the peristaltic pump.
The flushing process is complete.
y
Empty the feed reservoir and the permeate vessel.
