body including the power cord as well as
any attachment fi tted should be checked
thoroughly for any faults or defects.
Should the appliance, for instance, have
been dropped onto a hard surface, or if
excessive force has been used to pull
the power cord, it must no longer be
used: even invisible damage may have
adverse effects on the operational safety
of the appliance.
∙ Do not allow the power cord to touch
any hot part of the appliance.
∙ Caution: Danger of burns. The housing
surfaces, grill areas and mini-pans
become hot during use and will remain
so for some time afterwards.
∙ Always allow suffi cient time for the
appliance to cool down before removing
the grill plate, and before cleaning or
storing the unit.
∙ Do not leave the appliance unattended
while in use.
∙ During operation, the appliance must
be placed on a heat-resistant surface,
impervious to splashes and stains.
When cooking food with a high fat or
moisture content, splashes are not
always avoidable.
∙ Do not position the grill next to a wall or
corner, and ensure that no infl ammable
materials are stored near it.
∙ The appliance must be operated only
with the reversible grill plate correctly
fi tted above the heating element.
∙ Caution: Do not operate the appliance
outdoors.
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket
- after use,
- in case of any malfunction, and
- before cleaning the appliance.
∙ When removing the plug from the wall
socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself.
∙ This appliance should only be used
with the attachments provided by the
manufacturer.
∙ No responsibility will be accepted if
damage results from improper use, or if
these instructions are not complied with.
Before fi rst use
∙ Remove any packaging materials and
stickers from the appliance completely.
∙ Before switching on the appliance for
the fi rst time, wipe the reversible grill
plate, wooden spatulas and mini-pans
with a damp cloth.
∙ Heat the appliance and the pans for
about 30 minutes, without any food
in, to eliminate the smell typically
encountered when fi rst switching on a
grill (a small amount of smoke may also
be noticeable). Adequate ventilation
should be ensured by opening windows
or balcony doors.
∙ Let the grill cool down again.
∙ Clean it as described in the section
Cleaning and care.
