there is a risk even when the
appliance is switched off. Therefore,
always remove the plug from the
wall socket after use, especially if
the appliance is being used in a
bathroom.
∙ Additional protection is available
by fi tting an earth-leakage circuit-
breaker with a rated tripping current
not exceeding 30mA into your
bathroom installation. Please consult
a qualifi ed electrician.
∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials
well away from children – these are
a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suffocation.
∙ Protect the appliance from moisture and
splashing water and do not operate it with
wet hands.
∙ Electric heating appliances operate at
very high temperatures. Do not touch
any part of the appliance except the grip.
Otherwise there is a real risk of burning.
∙ Do not use the appliance on synthetic
hair-pieces or wigs, as the heat emitted
might cause damage to the synthetic
fi bres.
∙ Make sure the air intake and outlet
openings are not blocked (e.g. by fi ngers
or hair), and that no fl uff or fi bre particles
are allowed to accumulate in the air
intake.
∙ A blockage in the air-fl ow system may
cause the integral thermal safety cut-out
to switch off the appliance. Should
this occur, immediately disconnect the
appliance from the mains power and
allow suffi cient time for it to cool down
before the blockage is removed and the
appliance is switched on again.
∙ Every time the appliance is used, the
main body including the power cord as
well as any attachment fi tted should
be checked thoroughly for any defects.
Should the appliance, for instance, have
been dropped onto a hard surface, or if
excessive force has been used to pull the
power cord, it must no longer be used:
even invisible damage may have adverse
effects on the operational safety of the
appliance.
∙ To prevent damage to the power cord,
- do not bend or kink the cable, especially
where it leaves the housing,
- do not pull on the cord,
- do not coil the power cord around the
appliance.
∙ Do not leave the appliance unattended
while in use.
∙ Always switch off and remove the plug
from the wall socket after use, and also
in the event of any malfunction.
∙ When removing the plug from the wall
socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself.
∙ Do not place the appliance on any
surfaces sensitive to heat during or
immediately after use.

damage results from improper use, or if
these instructions are not complied with.
