The heater bars calcify in
use
and
corresponding
quantities of lime scum ac-
cumulate in the steam boi-
ler, which has to be decalci-
fied from time to time.
This is necessary at the
latest when it takes noticea-
bly longer to heat up.
Only open the tank
when the appliance
is completely de-
pressurised and has coo-
led down completely.

After use
Disconnect the steam hose
and accessories, then hold
at an angle so that the con-
densation water can drain
off.
If the appliance is not
going to be used for a
longer period of time (sever-
al weeks), always ensure
that any remaining water in
the boiler and storage tank
is completely removed.
Only open the tank
when the appliance
is completely depressuri-
sed and has cooled down
Decalcifying the steam boiler
Proceed as follows to decal-
cify the steam boiler:
1. Take the steam hose off.
2. Rinse the boiler with
clear water and let it
drain.
3. Fill the boiler with ½ l hot
water and approx. ½
glass white vinegar and
leave to stand for a few
hours, or use a commer-
cially available decalcify-
ing agent suitable for
irons or coffee makers,
following the manufactu-
rer's instructions.
Set the switch (12) to positi-
on "0" and disconnect from
the mains.
Allow the applian-
ce to cool down
completely.
Wind up the mains lead.
completely.
To do so, first remove the
tank cover (18) on the bot-
tom of the appliance and
use the enclosed wrench
size 19 to remove the drain
screw (19). Drain the tank
completely, then insert the
drain screw again and
screw it in firmly
4. Sway the appliance aro-
und gently in between
times.
5. Then drain the boiler and
rinse several times with
clear water, until no more
lime residues come out.
Regular decalcifying
can help to reduce
power consumption.
