6.3.1. Charging
•
Only use approved chargers (of the type specified in the technical
data or supplied by the B+B specialist retailer) to charge the
batteries.
•
Make sure to also follow the usage instructions for the charger.
•
Before switching on the charger, check that the power supply is
230 V.
•
First of all, switch the scooter off.
37
•
Connect the charger to the power socket (230 V)
•
Check the LED status on the charger. If a red LED illuminates or
flashes, do not start the charging process.
•
If the charger is ready for use, connect it to the scooter. The
charging socket is located on the side underneath the ignition lock
(Fig. 37).
•
The charge display on the charger shows the status of the charging
process.
38
--Flashing green: Charger ready for use
--Red: Charging in process
--Green: Charging complete
--Flashing red: Error, charging not possible
•
Once charging is complete, disconnect the scooter from the charger
and then unplug the charger from the mains.
6.3.2. Replacing the batteries
39
Be very careful when working on the batteries. Do not use metal tools,
do not touch the battery terminals and ensure that you follow the
battery manufacturer's instructions.
68
Caution! This work should only be done by a trai-
ned technician. There is danger of fatal injury!
Only use batteries that are approved for this scooter (see 5. Technical
data).
•
Make sure that the scooter is switched off before starting to replace
the batteries.
•
(See also Section 4.7 - Disassembling for storage).
•
The batteries are located underneath the seat of the scooter and
are protected by the housing cover.
•
Start by removing the housing cover.
•
- Disconnect the plug connections carefully and without using force.
•
Undo the screw on the mounting bracket.
•
Now remove the batteries (Fig. 42).
•
Lift the new batteries into the space provided and connect the
contacts. Make sure to observe the correct colour-coding (red and
black, Fig. 40).
•
Reattach the housing cover and the seat
When the batteries have reached the end of their
life, i.e. cannot be sufficiently charged any more,
they must not be disposed of with the household
waste. When new batteries are purchased, the
mobility dealer takes the old batteries and disposes
of them correctly.
