Picture-In-Picture (PIP) mode shows 2 input sources (images) on the live output screen, typically a
larger image in the back (main image) and a smaller image in front of, and within, the larger image
(sub-image), However the size of either image can be changed with the PIP function.
Once in PIP mode the main image input source can be changed by pressing the <Preview>
buttons. And the sub-image input source can be changed by pressing the <Program> buttons. In
PIP mode each input source has two scales, one for when it is the main image, and one for when it
is the sub-image.
Each input source's main image can be scaled by pressing the <Preview> button for the input
source and then pressing <SCALE>. Each input source's sub-image can be scaled by pressing the
<Program> button for input source, and then pressing <SCALE>.
To enable PIP and set a sub-image size to 500x200, do the following:
1. Press the <Program> button for the input that will be the main image.
2. Press the <Preview> button for the input source that will be the sub-image.
3. Press <PIP>. The sub-image shows in the upper left hand corner of the preview monitor and
program screen. The <Program> button for the sub-image lights up and the <Preview> button
for the main image lights up.
4. Press the lighted <Program> button for the sub-image.
5. Press <SCALE>. The display shows >H SIZE SUB.
6. Press <ENTER>. The display shows *H SIZE SUB.
7. Use <RIGHT> or <LEFT> to move to the first digit on the left.
8. Use <UP> or <DOWN> until the first digit is 0.
9. Use <RIGHT> or <LEFT> to move to the second digit on the left.
10. Use <UP> or <DOWN> until the second digit is 5.
11. Repeat steps 4–7 for the third and fourth digits until the display shows *H SIZE 0500.
12. Press <SEL>. The sub-image changes size.
13. Press <DOWN>. The display shows >V SIZE SUB.
14. Press <ENTER>. The display shows *V SIZE SUB.
15. Use <RIGHT> or <LEFT> to move to the first digit on the left.
16. Use <UP> or <DOWN> until the first digit is 0.
17. Use <RIGHT> or <LEFT> to move to the second digit on the left.
18. Use <UP> or <DOWN> until the second digit is 2.
19. Repeat steps 4–7 for the third and fourth digits until the display shows *V SIZE 0200.
20. Press <SEL>. The sub-image changes size.
SCALE settings made for the main image in PIP mode remain in effect after PIP mode is
exited.
