To reduce the risk of injury from possible end user exposure associated
with a) biological contamination and b) degradation products released
from the purifi cation media; and
To reduce the risk of product loss associated with a) chemical release
from purifi cation media, and b) nullifi cation of Supplier's USP<88> Class
VI compliance of fi lter capsule components:
• Use the installation procedure specifi ed in Operation Instructions.
• The capsule must be subjected to a preconditioning fl ush prior to use. Use
at least 54 L/m
preconditioning fl ush volume.

• Carry out preconditioning fl ush procedures of 3M™ Zeta Plus™ capsules
and 3M™ Emphaze™ AEX Hybrid Purifi er capsules separately.
• After pre-use NaOH sanitization, fl ush the system with appropriate
aqueous buff er until the pH range of 5 to 9 has been attained and monitor
the pH of the capsule effl uent to determine when the baseline has been
reached
(e.g., ± 0.5 pH units from the pH of the buff er used to fl ush the media).
• Capsules are designed for single use only. Do not reuse.
• Do not store capsules outside of the recommended conditions
[0 - 30°C (32 - 86°F)] in original packaging.
• Do not use past the expiration date.
• Do not use with organic solvents or fl ammable liquids.
• Use only with aqueous based process fl uids in the pH range of 5 to 9.
• Do not use with or expose this product to hot liquids >40°C (104°F).
• Do not use the product on unleveled surfaces.
• Do not gamma or ethylene oxide sterilize the capsules.
• Do not steam-in-place sterilize the capsules.
