operate this machine.
• Bosch can ensure flawless functioning of the
machine only when original accessories are used.
Changing the tool
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the
mains plug.
With the SDS-plus tool holder, simpler and
easier tool changing is possible with-out
additional aids.
The SDS-plus tool is designed to be freely
movable. This causes eccentricity when the
appliance is off-load.
However, the drill automatically centres itself during
operation.
This does not affect drilling precision.
Take care that the dust protection cap 1 is not
damaged when changing tools.
SDS-PLUS TOOLS
Inserting:
Clean and lightly oil the tool before inserting.
Insert the dust-free tool into the tool holder with
twisting until it latches. The tool locks itself.
Check the locking by pulling on the tool.
Removing:
Pull the locking sleeve 2 to the rear and hold while
removing the tool.
TOOLS WITHOUT SDS-PLUS
Do not use tools without SDS-plus for hammer
drilling or chiseling!
Steel, wood and plastic can be drilled with the ring
gear chuck (accessory) and the corresponding
adapter (accessory). (Fig.
Twist the mounted dust-free drill chuck into the tool-
holding fixture and push in until it engages. The
chuck locks automatically. Pull on the drill chuck to
check that it is locked. (Fig.
Set the impact stop switch 7 to Drilling (only
activate when the drill is at a standstill).

Srewdriver Bits GBH2-24 DSR (Fig.
For screwdriver bits, use the SDS-plus adapter 13
(optional accessory).
Before use
Before starting work always examine the
working area for concealed electric lines,
gas and water pipes, e. g. with a metal
detector.
Always use the correct supply voltage.
The voltage of the power source must agree with the
information on the nameplate of the ma-chine.
Machines for 230 V can also be used on 220 V
power sources.
The power cord and plug must be in perfect
condition.
Auxiliary handle
For safety reasons, the percussion drill may only
be operated using the auxiliary handle 5.
Rotating the auxiliary handle 5 to the desired position
reduces operator fatigue and enables the operator to
adopt a safe stance (Fig.
To rotate the auxiliary handle 5, first release the
handle by turning it counter-clockwise.
Then retighten the auxiliary handle 5.
DEPTH STOP (Fig.
Loosen the winged screw 14 on the auxiliary handle
5. Adjust the drilling depth stop t on the depth stop 4.
Retighten the winged screw.
Putting into operation
Temporary operation
• On: Press On/Off switch 8.
• Off: Release On/Off switch.
Continuous operation
• On: Press On/Off switch 8 and engage inter-lock 9.
• Off: Press On/Off switch 8 and release.
GBH 2-24 DSR: For reasons of safety, on/off switch
8 cannot be locked with locking button 9 in left
rotation.
Speed control (GBH 2-24 DSE / DSR)
Speed can be adjusted during operation by
increasing or decreasing the pressure on the On/Off
switch 8.
This enables holes to be drilled slowly in smooth
surfaces, e.g. tiles, and prevents the drill from
slipping. Splitting of drilled materials can also be
avoided.
Approx. Values
• Hammer Drilling in Concrete or Stone: press the
On/Off switch 8 to the maximum position.
• Drilling in Steel or Wood: press the On/Off switch 8
to the middle position.
