5 Preparation for use

CAUTION
Incorrect alignment, assembly or adjustment
Injuries due to incorrectly installed or adjusted as well as damaged prosthetic components
Observe the alignment, assembly and adjustment instructions.

5.1 Information on use

CAUTION
Using the prosthetic foot without a shoe
Falling due to lack of surface grip
Always use the prosthetic foot with a shoe.
INFORMATION
The prosthetic foot has no footshell
The chosen shoe is pulled directly over the prosthetic foot. The forefoot pad on the prosthetic
foot prevents sliding and cushions the shoe.

5.1.1 Shoe selection

INFORMATION
The spring of the prosthetic foot has a posterior projection. This means the prosthetic foot is not
suitable for all shoes. If the upper of the shoe is too high, the projection of the prosthetic foot
spring pushes on the upper. This can damage the shoe.
Select shoes where the posterior projection of the prosthetic foot spring does not push on
the upper of the shoe.
When walking down stairs with the prosthetic foot, note the projecting spring.

5.1.2 Use in water

The prosthetic foot may come into contact with water, for example, when jogging on the beach or
when swimming.
1) NOTICE! Always use the prosthetic foot with a shoe when in water. Otherwise, the
heel wedge may be lost.
Before water contact: Check the firm fit of the shoe.
2) After water contact: Clean the prosthetic foot (see Page 15).
