5.2. Visual inspection of mechanical + electrical safety technology:

• daily inspection of the machine for externally visible damage and general functionality.
• check of the status of the electrical cables and the control box (bite marks, wear spots, loose connections, etc.).
Repair work on electrical components must only be carried out by a qualified electrician taking account of electrical
safety regulations.
• disconnect the power, e.g. via the fuse
• secure against power reconnection
• check voltage-free state
• earthing and short-circuits
• cover and separate neighbouring parts that are carrying voltage

5.3. Gears

The gap between the brushes and the gears and the seals in each case must be checked weekly for soiling (hair!) and
cleaned where necessary. If cleaning is not carried out promptly, hair can be pulled / pressed into the seals, causing loss
of oil, bearing damage and possibly even damage to the gears. The oil level must also be checked on a weekly basis.
The gears have already been filled at the factory with Shell Tivela S320 gear oil. Top up any lost oil using only this type of
oil.

5.4. Screw connections

Check all screw connections weekly to ensure they are tight, especially the securing of the machine to the wall. Tighten
any screw connections where necessary.

5.5. Moving parts

Rollers (Fig. 10, item 20), rubber buffers (item 10+16), plastic gliding runners at the bottom (item 18) and at the top
(Fig. 9, item 2)
These parts must be inspected regularly and changed if they are wearing too much.
To change some of the guide parts, the entire carriage will need to be removed from the wall frame!!
When changing the parts, always secure the carriage and gears with lifting equipment (front-
loader, pulley) against falling or collapsing!! Risk of injury!!
To extend the service life of the plastic guides at the top and the plastic side guides, lubricating
grease should be applied to the gliding surfaces on a regular basis.

5.6. Brushes

The brushes (Fig. 11, items 37 + 41) must be changed once they have worn down and are demonstrating only
inadequate cleaning performance on the animals.
Changing the brushes
Vertical brushes:
1. Unfasten the 2 M10 screws (item 26) on the carriage at the bottom
2. Remove the cover plate (item 14) and unfasten the securing ring (item 43)
3. Pull off the brush (item 41) and replace with the new brush.
4. Assemble the parts in the reverse order
Horizontal brushes:
1. Unfasten the M10 screw (item 39) on the brush and remove the clamping plate (item 38)
2. Pull off the brush (item 37) and replace with the new brush
3. Assemble the parts in reverse order. Secure M10 screw (item 39) with threadlocker.
Brush cleaning
The brush element should be cleaned every 6 weeks with a suitable disinfectant. (For example INTERKOKASK Spray
