Picture quality

When you play a DVD video, picture quality is reduced, or the
picture is not displayed.
, A Euro-AV Cable is being used to connect to the console.

compatible cable other than the SCPH-10142 Euro-AV Cable. The DVD video
picture will not display properly if you use the Euro-AV Cable for this
connection.
It may be necessary to change the setting of your TV even if the mentioned
cables are used. Refer to your TV manual for details.
, The progressive scan option* is set to "On" when using a TV that does not
support progressive scan, or when using a cable other than the Component AV
Cable (for PlayStation
Do not open the disc tray or remove the DVD. With the DVD inserted in the
console, press the I/1/RESET button on the DVD Remote Control, or the
1/RESET button on the console front, and then hold down the START button
on the Analog Controller (DUALSHOCK
the DVD picture is displayed. When DVD playback begins, "Progressive" will
be set to "Off", allowing the DVD video to be displayed as normal.
"Progressive" can also be set to "Off" in the Version Information screen. For

NTSC format, and viewed on a TV that supports NTSC signals.
, Some video images appear unnatural when using progressive scan, even when
the TV supports progressive mode. Set "Progressive" to "Off", and view in
interlace format.

Disc playback does not start from the beginning of the DVD.
