10.2. Replace air distribution
ring
Perform all work steps described
in the Chapter Replace nozzle set
before and after replacing air distri-
bution ring (see Chap. 10.1).
Remove air distribution ring
Notice!
The air distribution ring is lodged
tightly in the nozzle head. Use of
too much force can damage the
nozzle head. Slipping with the
SATA extraction tool can lead to
injury.
→ Wear work gloves.
→ Always use SATA extraction
tool pointing away from your
body.
→ Pull air distribution ring evenly
out of nozzle head.
■ Perform work step 'Remove nozzle
set' (see Chap 10.1).
■ Pull out air distribution ring [9-1]
using SATA extraction tool [9-2].
■ Check sealing surfaces for damage
and contamination, clean or re-
place as required.
Install new air distribution ring
■ Place air distribution ring [10-3] in to
nozzle head [10-2]. Ensure that the
lug at the bottom of the air distribution
ring is aligned properly [10-1].
■ Press air distribution ring in evenly.
■ Perform work step 'Install new nozzle
set' (see Chap 10.1).

10.3. Replace paint needle
seal retainer
Notice!
If both paint needle seal retainers
are damaged, material can es-
cape from the gun body inspec-
tion hole [1-14].
→ Replace paint needle seal re-
tainer immediately.
Remove paint needle seal retainer
■ Unscrew control cap [11-1].
■ Unscrew end cap [11-2].
■ Remove both springs [11-3], [11-4].
■ Remove paint needle [11-5].
■ Unscrew four machine screws [11-8]
with Allen wrench.
■ Remove nozzle head [11-7] from gun
body [11-6].
Material side [12]
■ Unscrew seal retainer [12-2] from
nozzle head [12-1] with socket
wrench [12-3].
Air side [13]
■ Unscrew seal retainer [13-2] from gun
body [13-1] with screwdriver [13-3].
■ Check seal retainer for damage and
contamination, clean or replace as
required.
Install new paint needle seal retainer
Material side [12]
■ Screw seal retainer [12-2] in to nozzle
head [12-1] with socket wrench
[12-3].
Air side [13]
■ Screw seal retainer [13-2] in to gun
