– Place on the clamping flange 46 and the hex socket screw
45. Press the spindle lock 44 until it engages and tighten
the screw turning in anticlockwise direction.
– Slowly guide the retracting blade guard downward again.
Mounting with SDS Bolt (see figure D)
 With vertical mitre cuts and the use of the SDS bolt 30,
you need to ensure that the SDS bolt can never come in-
to contact with the workpiece surface before sawing.
This is done by setting an appropriate depth stop (see
"Adjusting the Depth Stop", page 38). This prevents,
that the SDS bolt and / or the workpiece may be damaged.
Removing the Saw Blade:
– Bring the power tool into the working position.
– Push the locking lever 13, swing the retracting blade guard
15 backward to the stop and let go of the locking lever.
Hold the retracting blade guard in this position.
– Turn the SDS bolt 30 and at the same time press the spin-
dle lock 44 until it engages.
– Hold the spindle lock 44 pressed and unscrew the SDS
bolt 30 in clockwise direction (left-hand thread!).
– Remove the clamping flange 46.
– Remove the saw blade 47.
– Slowly guide the retracting blade guard downward again.
Mounting the Saw Blade:
If required, clean all parts to be mounted prior to assembly.
– Push the locking lever 13, swing the retracting blade guard
15 backward to the stop and let go of the locking lever.
Hold the retracting blade guard in this position.
– Place the new saw blade onto the interior clamping flange
48.
 When mounting the saw blade, pay attention that the
cutting direction of the teeth (arrow direction on the
saw blade) corresponds with the direction of the arrow
on the blade guard!
– Attach the clamping flange 46 and the SDS bolt 30. Press
the spindle lock 44 until it engages and tighten the SDS
bolt in anticlockwise direction.
– Slowly guide the retracting blade guard downward again.
Operation
 Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Transport Safety (see figure E)
The transport safety-lock 9 enables easier handling of the ma-
chine when transporting to various working locations.
Releasing the Machine (Working Position)
– Push the tool arm by the handle 12 down a little in order to
relieve the transport safety-lock 9.
– Pull the transport safety-lock 9 completely outward.
– Guide the tool arm slowly upward.
Securing the Machine (Transport Position)
– Loosen the locking screw 6 if tightened. Pull the tool arm
completely to the front and tighten the locking screw
again.
– Screw adjusting screw 39 completely upward.
Bosch Power Tools
– To lock the saw table 18, tighten the locking knob 21.
– Push the locking lever 13 and guide the tool arm slowly
downward with the tool handle 12.
– Guide the tool arm downward until the transport safety-
lock 9 can be pushed completely inward.

Preparing for Operation

Extending the Saw Table (see figure F)
Long workpieces must be underlaid or supported at their free
end.
The saw table can be extended left and right with the saw-ta-
ble extensions 27.
– Loosen the clamping screw 49.
– Pull out the saw-table extension 27 to the desired length.
– Retighten the clamping screw 49 to fix the saw-table ex-
tension.
Moving the Fence (see figure G)
When sawing mitre/bevel angles, you have to pull the left-
hand or right-hand adjustable fence 2 outward depending on
the cutting direction, or remove it completely.
If necessary, refit the adjustable fence 2 after making the cut.

Clamping the Workpiece (see figure H)
To ensure optimum working safety, the workpiece must al-
ways be firmly clamped.
Do not saw workpieces that are too small to clamp.
– Press the workpiece firmly against the fences 2 and 1.
– Insert the quick-action clamp 38 provided into one of the
holes 29 intended for this purpose.
– Loosen the wing bolt 51 and adapt the quick-action clamp
to the workpiece. Tighten the wing bolt again.
– Firmly tighten the threaded rod 50, thus fastening the
workpiece.

Adjusting Mitre Angles

To ensure precise cuts, the basic adjustment of the machine
must be checked and adjusted as necessary after intensive
use (see "Checking and Adjusting the Basic Adjustment",
page 39).
