7.2.5
Obstacles in the path of the beams
If an obstacle is put in the path of the infrared barriers, it leads to a false alarm, usually of the blocking
type, but also of the intrusion type. Whenever possible, it is preferable to materialize lines on the ground
to show the limits for placing or storing objects. Be careful with the positioning of chairs, reclining chairs,
garden tables, flowerpots, etc. Also pay attention to towels, clothing or other light products that can be
carried away by a gust of wind. Carry out the checks as shown in paragraph 1, i.e. visually, by looking
along the alignment between the columns to avoid error of parallax.
7.2.6
False alarms
If oyu note that the alarm is triggered for unexplained reasons, especially at sunrise or sunset, the most
probable cause is incorrect alignment of an infrared cell or the presence of obstacles in the path of the
beams. Call your installer, who will be able to adjust the beacon concerned. The presence of dogs, cats or
other pets, together with long grass, can also lead to unwanted alarms.
7.2.7
Fault identification
The system uses various types of alert, depending on the type of alarm triggered (intrusion or various
faults). You must be able to identify the various types of alert clearly and write them down in a notebook.
This will enable you to make work easier for your installer; to be able to work efficiently on the
equipment, he must have as much information as possible on the conditions in which the alarm was
triggered (type of alert, frequency and time of triggering, weather conditions)-
7.2.8
Psychological constraints
Correct operation of the system involves setting up an organization and changing habits, together with a
slight level of constraint for the users (switching the monitoring system ON or OFF each time the pool is
used). It is necessart to explain these instructions carefully to the persons involved and use psychological
persuasion to ensure that they adopt the system. This will be the contribution to make to ensure full
efficiency of your pool safety alert system
