About This Product
Applications
Without coils and
sensors
With coils and sensors
The cylinder has been designed for use in explosive areas above
ground. All exterior materials are suitable low-spark materials.
Make sure that the compressed air is only generated and
prepared outside the explosive area.
Always observe the technical data and limits indicated on the
rating plate, particularly the information from the ATEX
identification.
You can use the cylinder without coils and sensors as follows:
within zone 1 (category 2G) – gas explosion protection
within zone 21 (category 2D) – dust explosion protection
Without coils and sensors, the cylinder is a mechanical device and
complies with mechanical explosion protection requirements.
You can use the cylinder with a valve, coils and sensors as follows:
within zone 2 (category 3G) – gas explosion protection
within zone 22 (category 3D) – dust explosion protection
If you are using a configuration with individual electrical devices
(coils, sensors), the declarations of conformity for these devices
also apply (see Table 1 on page 46).
5.2
ATEX identification
The identification of the mechanical explosion protection
depends on your selected configuration.
ATEX identification for a cylinder without additional electrical
devices:
II 2G c IIB T4
II 2D c IP65 T135 °C X
-10 °C ≤ Ta ≤ 50 °C
ATEX identification for a cylinder that can be expanded by
electrical devices (does not apply to ST6 sensor):
II 3G c IIB T4
II 3D c IP65 T135 °C X
-10 °C ≤ Ta ≤ 50 °C
If you are using an ST6 sensor, the ATEX identification is:
II 3G c IIB T4
II 3D c IP65 T135 °C X
-10 °C ≤ Ta ≤ 45 °C
