Commissioning and Operation
Damage to the cylinder caused by excessive
striking force!
Excessive striking forces can destroy the cylinder.
Adjust the cushioning to the load during operation.
Always adjust the cushioning when you change the piston speed.
3. Adjust the following settings for the system conditions or loads
during operation:
– Piston speed, if necessary (see 8.1)
– Cushioning (see 8.2)
8.1

Changing the piston speed

You can influence piston speeds in both travel directions using
throttle valves or check-choke valves, thus optimizing the cylinder
cycle.
To increase the speed, turn the throttle screws out.
To reduce the speed, turn the throttle screws in.
On double-acting cylinders, the effective piston surface and
piston force are lower during retraction than extension due to
the cylinder piston rod. This does not apply to cylinders with a
through piston rod.
