• Ensure that there is sufficient water in the swimming pool to cover half the hinged cover of the skimmer (Fig. 5) (Pag. 55). The pump
should never be allowed to operate without water, otherwise the mechanical seal could be damaged causing water to leak.
• Check that all connections of the installation are correct and well secured.
• Before starting-up the equipment for the first time, the pump should be started. To do this, remove the cover from the pump pre-filter and
fill the pre-filter with water (Fig. 16) (Pag. 57). Close the pre-filter cover.
• Check that both the filter and pre-filter covers of the pump are properly closed.
• Place the selector valves in the filter position and the three-way valve in the skimmer position (Fig. 17) (Pag. 57).
• Place the timer switch in position I (Fig. 20) (Pag. 58). Place the pump protection switch of the control panel in the ON position. (Fig. 21)
(Pag. 58).
• To turn the equipment off, place the pump switch in the OFF position. (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
PROGRAMMING THE TIMER - PROGRAMMER
The control panel has a timer - programmer to automate filtering times, start-up and shutdown of the equipment. For programming, follow
these steps:
• Make sure the pump switch is in the OFF position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
• To set the time: Remove the transparent cover from the timer. Turn the inside dial of the timer in a clockwise direction until the current time
is lined up with the arrow (triangle) (Fig. 22) (Pag. 58).
• To set the operation time: The timer has 48 tabs, each of which is equivalent to half an hour. The tabs can be raised (off) or pressed (on).
Set the operation time by pressing the required tabs (Fig. 23) (Pag. 58). It is recommended to set a daily filtering time of 8 hours (16
tabs).
• To start-up automatic operation: The timer - programmer has a two position (I or II) switch. Position I starts the manual operation of the
pump. On the other hand, position II lets the timer tabs control the on or off function of the pump (Fig. 20) (Pag. 58).
NOTE: do not force the timer switch when trying to place it in position II, as if the activated timer tab is pressed, the trigger will move to
position I .
• Place the transparent cover on the timer.
5. OPERATION
The compact filtration system performs four functions: Filters pool water, Provides a connection for a pool cleaner, Empties the pool, provides
swimming pool lighting. In code 22440.
5.1. OPERATION: WATER FILTERING
The skimmer is the filtering element, which collects water from the surface. The water passes through the skimmer basket. The larger
particles remain trapped in the basket, the impurities which cannot be retained pass through to the cartridge filter, where they are filtered.
For the water filtering operation, follow these steps:
• Place the pump switch in the OFF position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
• Place the selector valve in the filter position and the three -way valve in the skimmer position. (Fig. 17) (Pag. 57).
• To programme an automatic timed filtering operation, set the programmer as described in section 4.2 (Programming the timer -
programmer) of this manual. If you wish to start-up a manual filtering operation, place the timer switch in position I (Fig. 20) (Pag. 58)
and turn on the pump by placing the switch in the ON position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
• To stop the filtering operation, place the pump switch in the OFF position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58). If you wish to leave the pump in the
automatic timed filtering position, leave the pump switch in the ON position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58) and the timer switch in position II without
forcing it (Fig. 20) (Pag. 58).
5.2. OPERATION: CONNECTION OF POOL CLEANER
Dirt deposited on the bottom of the pool can be vacuumed by connecting to a pool cleaner.
To connect to a pool cleaner, follow these steps:
• Place the pump switch in the OFF position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
• Place the selector valve in the filter position and the three-way valve in the cleaning position. (Fig. 18) (Pag. 57)
• Remove the plug of the pool cleaner suction inlet and connect the pool cleaner hose (not supplied with the equipment) to the suction inlet
(Fig. 24) (Pag. 58).
IMPORTANT: before connecting the hose, first fill it with water.
To start the suction operation, place the timer switch in position I (Fig. 20) (Pag. 58) and place the pump switch in the ON position
(Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
• After cleaning the bottom of the swimming pool, stop the pump by placing the pump switch in the OFF position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
Disconnect the pool cleaner and place the plug to cover the suction nozzle (Fig. 24) (Pag. 58).
• Place the valves once again in the filtering position. If you wish to start the automatic timed filtering operation, leave the timer switch in
position II (automatic filtering) and leave the pump switch in the ON position.
5.3. OPERATION: EMPTYING THE SWIMMING POOL
It is possible to empty almost all the swimming pool with the compact filtration unit.
To empty the swimming pool, follow these steps:
• Place the pump switch in the OFF position (Fig. 21) (Pag. 58).
• Place the selector valve in the drainage position and the three-way valve in the cleaning position (Fig. 19) (Pag. 57).
• Remove the plug from the suction inlet of the pool cleaner and connect the suction hose (not supplied with the equipment) (Fig. 24)
(Pag. 58).
• Weigh down the end of the suction hose with a heavy object which will not damage the bottom of the swimming pool, in order to sink it to
the bottom.
• To start the suction operation, place the timer switch in position I (Fig. 20) (Pag. 58) and the pump switch in the ON position (Fig. 21)
(Pag. 58).
