Epicomed
Intended purpose
Epicomed is an elbow support. The
product is exclusively to be used for the
orthotic fitting of the elbow and only on
unbroken skin or if any wounds have
been properly covered.
Areas of use
• Irritation at the tendon insertion
(Epicondylitis humeri), e.g. tennis
elbow
• Joint inflammation (arthritis)
• Painful joint wear (arthrosis)
• Irritation of the joint (e.g. excessie
stress, injuries or operations) linked to
swelling or bruising
Side-Effects/Contraindications
No side-effect is known which
influences the whole body. However, if
bandages (or similar aids) are too tight,
local pressure effects or constriction of
blood vessels or nerves may occur in
individuals. For this reason, you should
discuss this with your doctor before
applying the bandage if you suffer from:
• Diseases or injuries of the skin in the
area of use, especially with inflamma-
tory symptoms (excessive warming,
swelling or reddening).
• Sensitivity and perfusion disorders of
the legs or feet (e.g. in the case of
diabetes).
• Lymph outflow disorders, as well as
unclear swellings of soft tissues, apart
from the area of use.
Any combination with other products
(e.g. compression arm stockings) must
be discussed in advance with the
responsible doctor.

Mode of Action/Comment on Wear
Epicomed causes a massage effect,
which supports perfusion, by interacting
with compressive knitted fabric and the
two integrated silicon inlays. This effect
furthers the decline in swellings and
bruises. Irritation and pain are relieved.
In addition, the lashing strap can be
individually adjusted for the level of
stress at work or during sport. This helps
to reduce excessive stress on the
musculature and tendons.
Supports cause the greatest effect
during physical exercise. In principal, the
support can be worn all day. However,
this depends on how comfortable the
support is to wear. You should avoid
bending your arm tight for a long period.
The support should be taken off for
longer breaks (e.g. when sleeping).
If you suffer excessive pain or discomfort
during wear, please take off the product
immediately and contact your doctor or
specialized shop.
The support is also suitable for use in
water. After use, please rinse out the
product thoroughly.
Putting on/Taking off
• To make putting Epicomed on easier,
• Pull the bandage over the elbow so
fold down the upper fastening edge.
that the crease of the elbow sits in the
middle of the knitted comfort zone
and the seam on the back side runs
over the middle of the elbow bone at
the back of the arm. Then roll the
upper part of the bandage back up.
