2 Mechanical Clamp for Biesse, SCM
and Morbidelli Machines
Startup
The mechanical clamps can be placed on the
manufacturer's clamping system like the suction
pad they originally came with.
Now loosen the clamping disk Pos. [2] through
rotating the disk contra clockwise. By doing this also
the height of the clamping disk Pos. [2] could be
adjusted. If the clamping disk Pos. [2] could not be
loosen fix the thread Pos. [1] with a hexagon key
and then turn the clamping disk Pos. [2].
The clamping range could be increased additionally
by loosening the clamping disk Pos. [2] totally and
turning it about 180°. It is screwed on the thread
Pos. [1].

Function and application
After you place the clamp on the machine table and set
the clamping range, you can clamp the workpiece. You
can also clamp a workpiece in mixed operation if the
contact surface of the mechanical clamp and vacuum
block are at the same height.
Position the workpiece as normal and activate the
operating vacuum of the console. The clamping plate
lowers by 10 mm and mechanically clamps
workpiece. If the workpiece does not clamp, adjust the
clamping plate again. The operating vacuum also
secures the clamp itself to the machine table.
Danger
Ensure that no body parts get caught between
the clamping plate and workpiece or contact
surface. This could result in injury.
Pay attention to the clearance height of the
machine.

3 Mechanical Clamp for Smooth Tables
Startup
The mechanical clamps are positioned on the surface
of the machine table in such a way that there is no
chance of tools colliding with each other.
Connect the operating vacuum of the first vacuum
circuit to plug connector [5] (securing the clamps to
the machine table) and activate this vacuum circuit.
Connect the vacuum of the second vacuum circuit to
plug connector [4] (clamping the workpiece).
Loosen screw [1] on clamping plate [2] and adjust the
height by turning the clamping plate.
To increase the clamping range still further, see
Section 7 for more clamping plates (item [2]).
After you have adjusted the clamping range, tighten
screw [1].
The mechanical clamp is now ready for use.

4 Mechanical Clamps for Consoles with
One Vacuum Circuit
Startup
The mechanical clamps are placed on the single-
circuit vacuum console like a normal vacuum block.
Connect the vacuum to plug connector [4] and
activate this vacuum.
The mechanical clamp is now preliminarily secured
to the console.
Loosen screw [1] on clamping plate [2] and adjust
the height by turning the clamping plate. If you need
more height than is available as delivered, loosen
the clamping plate entirely and turn it 180° (only
necessary if height = 50 mm). This gives you a larger
clamping range. You can adjust the mechanical
clamp with a height of 85 mm to its maximum height
without turning the clamping plate
To increase the clamping range still further, see
Section 7 for more clamping plates.
After you have adjusted the clamping range, tighten
screw [1].
The mechanical clamp is now ready for use.
