AIrCOAt PrOCEss
The diaphragm pump Finish 270 / 250 takes in the coating ma-
terial by suction and conveys it to the tip.
Compressed air with max. 0.25 MPa (2.5 bar, 36 psi) is supplied
and the atomisation is carried aiut at a pressure of between 8
MPa (80 bar, 1160 psi) and max. 12 MPa (120 bar, 1740 psi).
Any irregularities in the spraying pattern which occur with the
Airless procedure when the pressure set is too low are com-
pensated by the additional atomisation air. The sharp edges
found with Airless spraying become swirled when AirCoat
spraying. The spray jet is spread out further and is softer. The
disadvantage found with Airless atiomisation when the pres-
sure is adjusted too low, privides here the advantage that the
coating material particles move with lower forwards energy.
This results in a low coating material consumption and redu-
ces the coating material losses.
The minimal atomisation air used produces none of the mist
formation found otherwise with air spraying and which causes
enviromental damage.

1. Put unit in an vertical position
2. Screw out hexagon screws (Item 1) (3 screws) at housing
cover of Finish 270 /250 -> see illustration page 10
3. Fix the AirCoat Regulator with the 3 added longer hexa-
gon screws.

Mount double hose. For that screw high pressure hose onto
material outlet of the unit, screw the other end onto the spray
gun and tighten it all well.
Screw compressed air hose onto the AirCoat regulator.
Screw the other end of the compressed air hose onto the
spray gun.
Provide an oil-free, dry compressed air supply.
Adjust the compressed air on the AirCoat redulator to max.
0.25 MPa (2.5 bar, 36psi).
Adjust the operating pressure to between 8 MPa (80 bar, 1160
psi) and max. 12 MPa (120 bar, 1740 psi) using the pressure
regulator valve on the unit.

Turn off compressed air supply.
Throughly clean the spray gun, high pressure hose (see opera-
ting manual of Finish 270 / 250)
