Determining the screw length of the fastening screws

Screwing dimension (E) =

Choosing an incorrect screw length involves an increased risk of accidents
and injury!
If the screwing dimension (E) is larger than required, the boat seat is loose despite
of the fastening screws (8) being tightened!
If the screwing dimension (E) is smaller than required, the screws cannot be
tightened sufficiently!
If using an additional safety element complying with VDI 2230 for protection against
loosening, the thickness of the additional safety elements must be considered for
determining the screw length.
The boat manufacturer is responsible for screw retention and for determining the
torque of the fastening screws.
