Installation notes
Notes regarding adjustable seat pedestals / seat consoles
If adjustable seat pedestals or consoles are used (e.g. height adjustment, fore/aft adjustment,
swivel mechanism), it has to be ensured additionally for installation that no crush or shear
zones can occur between the springy boat seat including the seat pedestal / seat console and
the floor in all possible adjustment positions.
Installation steps
1 Determine the minimum height of the seat pedestal / seat console *.
Please observe the notes regarding adjustable seat pedestals / seat consoles.
2 Transfer the screwing dimensions to the seat pedestal / seat console* or to the screwing
surface inside the boat.
3 Make four holes for M8 fastening screws at the seat pedestal / at the seat console* or at
the screwing surface inside the boat.
4 Determine the screw length of the fastening screws.
For the fastening screws, select a property class which ensures a safe screw
joint.
5 Attach the boat seat to the four attachment points at the seat pedestal / on the seat
console* or to the screwing surface inside the boat.
The boat manufacturer is responsible for screw retention and for determining
the torque of the fastening screws.
If using an additional safety element complying with VDI 2230 for protection
against loosening, the thickness of the additional safety elements must be
considered for determining the screw length.
