1. PRELIMINARY AND SAFETY

For your own safety as well as that of the apparatus you are recommended to
follow the procedures described in this instruction manual and carefully read
all the notes preceded by the symbol
and/or Instructions may damage the apparatus and/or its components or
injure the operator.
• Read this instruction manual and the instrument's one before starting use.
• Check that batteries have been placed correctly.
• This product must be used only by qualified personnel practicing applicable safety
precautions, wear protective clothing and gloves as required.
• Do not effect any measurement under conditions beyond the limits specified in this
manual.
• Always connect electronics unit to display device before installing the flexible
measuring head.
• Do not install the clamp around cables where the current flowing is greater than the
maximum measurable current (over range).
Hazardous potentials may exist closest the desired current measurements. Use
locally approved safety procedures when working near hazardous potentials. It
is recommended to de-energize the installation before installing clamps
around a live bus and always use appropriate gloves and/or equipment
approved for working around hazardous potentials when installing the clamp
closest these hazardous potentials.
Both HTFLEX3003 transducer and interconnection cables use double insulation to protect
the operator from possible hazardous potentials of the bus. Make sure the electronics
package is well away from the bus. Each current probe is rated for Installation CAT III,
Pollution Degree 2. The maximum voltage to earth rating for the transducer and cable is
1000V∼. The maximum voltage to earth rating for the electronics enclosure is 30V∼.

The presence of the symbol indicates the item is a Type B or C current probe
and is recommended to de-energize the installation before installing clamps
around a live bus.
