9. DC connection

This chapter explains the requirements and process for wiring the DC wiring to the unit.
Read carefully before starting the connection process.

Consult section "Important safety instructions" and the following instructions before working on the unit.

9.1. Safety instructions for the DC connection

DANGER
Make sure there is no voltage present on the unit before starting the connection.
Do not switch on the power to the unit until you have successfully made the rest of the connections and the unit
is closed.
Use the Personal Protective Equipment specified in section "Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)".
While connecting the inverter, make sure of the proper installation of the cables on the unit´s terminals so that
parts of accessible wires do not remain live.
When the PV array is exposed to sunlight the inverter has DC voltage.
CAUTION
Ingeteam accepts no liability for any damages caused by an incorrect connection.

The wiring must be routed inside the unit via a conduit, which is inserted through a coupling in order to
maintain the unit's protection class.

9.2. Wiring requirements for the DC connection

CAUTION
The type of cabling for the connection must have dimensions in line with current regulations in the country of
installation and according to the type of installation and maximum current and voltage of the PV array.

9.2.1. PRO Version

This version accepts up to 24 strings. The unit includes the aerial photovoltaic connectors required for connecting
each string to the unit. The photovoltaic connectors used are Phoenix contact Sunclix PV-CF-S 2.5-6 (+) and
PV-CM-S 2.5-6 (-). To perform the connection between the string cables and their corresponding connectors, see
the manufacturer documentation.
The accepted section for the aerial connectors is 2.5 mm
There are several restrictions regarding the dimensioning of the strings connected to the unit:
• Each individual string must not exceed 11 Adc.
• There are four groups of six strings each (1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24). The sum of the currents of the string
in each group must never exceed 50 Adc.
• The sum of the currents of all the string must in no case exceed 185 Adc.
CAUTION
The strings connected to the unit's connectors must be electrically independent of each other. That is, there
must not be any strings with a current higher than that permitted separated into several connectors, as the
current distribution is never guaranteed.
