6.3.- Monitoring the Headend
The Headend Control system lets us moni-
tor the headend elements without having to
actually go to headend. To do so, use the
commands "Monitoring ON/OFF" and "Stop
monitoring".
The command "Monitoring ON/OFF" ena-
bles the monitoring of the elements, and a
diode at the front of the equipment indica-
tes the status of the device. The color of this
LED depends on the status of the three
monitoring leds of the unit.
Green: this indicates that the device is wor-
king correctly (the three device leds are
green).
Yellow: this indicates that the first led of the
device is red (this generally indicates a low
input level).
Red: this indicates that the module is not
operating correctly (two or more leds are
red).
The incorrect operation of the device can be
identified by opening the "Supervision" win-
dow of said device, or by expanding the
rack where it is located (right click).
Devices which show three leds on the
supervision window:
- QPSK-PAL (ref. 5037, 79)
- COFDM-PAL (ref. 5054)
- COFDM-QAM (ref. 5056)
- TDT (ref. 5023)
- CDC (ref. 5052)
Example of the monitoring of the QPSK. All are linked up.
