INSTALLATION
Important safety instructions for the installation.
Warning: incorrect installation can lead to severe
injury. Follow all the instructions.
To operate a good installation of the actuator MAGI
follow these instructions:
Be sure that both leaves move in a perfect
horizontal way.
Fix temporarily the brackets "S1" and "S2"on the
actuator. Fix now the bracket "S1" to the operator
using the screw "P1" , the ring "B1", the washers "R1"
and the nut "D1"
(see pic.
the pin "P" using the washers "R2" , the ring "B2" and
the nut "D2"
(see pic.
2).
Put in function the actuator until the pin (P)'s axis is at
750mm respect to the axis of the back pin "P1"
pic.
3).
Choose the maximum opening of the gate (up to
120°,
see pic.
3) and choose the height (min. 100mm
from the ground) where you would like to fit the
actuator.
Be sure that motor is working in a horizontal way,
afterwards , weld softly and temporarily the bracket
"S1" at the gate structure as reported from the
for different measures respect the table and consider
this: measure "A" + measure "B" < 300 (max usable
stroke of Magi).
Weld the bracket "S2" on the gate.
If the gate structure is not iron made, use bracket "S3"
as base where to weld the bracket "S1" by special
and proper unsupplied screws
Releasing the actuator as explained on "emergency
or manual manoeuvre" part and make an opening
and closing operation in order to check whether the
actuator is going to be installed properly.
Remove the actuator from the brackets "S1" and "S2"
and fix definitively these brackets with a hard and
very good welding.
Re-install the actuator and repeat the test as written
above for checking whether the gate is moving easily.
Fix now the lock "BS" on the releasing lever "LS" face
to the internal part of the property/garden
Connect the wires form the motor to the control panel
as explained on "control panel manual" and install the
safety devices too. Teach professional persons to be
responsible for the controls, safety devices,
emergency manoeuvre and dangerousness deriving
from the usage of the installation.
Compile the technical booklet and fulfil the eventual
obligations deriving from the regulations in force.
CONNECTIONS MOTOR – LIMIT SWITCHES
Remove screws "V4" and the cover
order to reach the terminals for the motor and the limit
switches. Insert the cable 7x1mmq or 2 cables (1 for
the motor 4x1mmq, and 1 for the limit switches
3x1mmq
(see pic.
12).
Make the connections as shown on pic. 13. Fix the
cable with the bracket "C1"
and fix it again with the screws "V4".
VERSION MAGI/OPEN
Version with limit switches in opening and closing
position.
1). Fix the bracket "S2" on

(see pic.
4).
(see pic.
(see pic.
11) in
(see pic.
13), put the cover
WARNING: Limit switches can not replace the
usual safety devices regulated from the norms in
force.
To adjust the limit switches, remove screws "V1" and
front cover "CA"
Remove upper part of the main aluminium profile. In
case the part is hard to remove, use pincers pulling
from the part "P"
Close completely the gate leaf and release a little bit
the closing limit switch's screw "V2"
Move the switch until you hear its click and fix the
screw "V2".
Open completely the gate leaf and release a little bit
the opening limit switch's screw "V3"
Move the switch until you hear its click and fix the
screw "V3".
(see
Insert again the upper part on the main aluminium
profile, fix the front cover with the screws "V1" and
check whether limit switches are working properly.
If not, repeat carefully the adjustment.
If you are using a Daspi's control panel with slowing
down by limit switches it's necessary adjust the
switches just at the point you want to start the motor's
3.,
slowing down.
DASPI grants a proper function of the limit
switches only if controlling by one of its control
panels.
EMERGENCY OR MANUAL MANOEUVRE
Emergency or manual manoeuvre must be made
only during the installation of the actuator or in case
the actuator doesn't work properly or in absence of
power supply.
CUT OFF THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY
Open the lock cover of "LS" and insert the releasing
key "CH"
(see pic.
down the lever "LS" until the leaf is released and you
can open the gate
released, if you turn the key "CH" on its initial position,
the lever "LS" will stay hanged at "releasing position".
5).
In order to put the gate working again in an automatic
way, put lever "LS" in horizontal position and turn back
the key "CH" in order to block the lever in closing
position. Take off the key, put the lock cover again and
move the releasing system until it hangs again on the
main endless-screw. Keep the key "CH" in a safe
place known only from people intended for the use of
the automation.
Turn on the main power supply paying attention the
people are out of the area in which the gate is
moving. Teach the people intended for the use of the
automation about the emergency manoeuvre.
Teach to all the people who will be using the
automation, how opearates the emergency releasing
system.
