2.5.2

Change-Over of weldheads

The change-over between the two weld heads is controlled automatically by the
power supply. To change ports it is only necessary to press any key on the control
panel of the appropriate weldhead. The unit will then transfer all required services
and select the appropriate program. Where both weldheads are being used it is only
possible to change-over when no welding cycle is running. The operator can see if a
welding cycle is running as both heads will display the red LED on the control panel
when then unit is in operation. The operator can then see that change-over can take
place when the LED is not illuminated.
2.5.3

Weldhead calibration

It is still possible to calibrate the motor of the weldhead when the ORBITWIN is
connected. When carrying out a calibration the selected weld head is calibrated. If
two different weldheads are connected then there will be no deviation as the power
source will store two separate calibration values.
However if two weldheads of the same type are connected then extra care should be
taken as the power source can only store one calibration value for each weldhead
type. In this instance both weldheads should be calibrated and if there is a large
deviation between the two weldheads then the values should be brought into line by
using the potentiometer in the handle of the weldhead so that the calibration values
of both heads match.
