6 Comissioning
We recommend that you ask your Wilo Customer Service to commission your unit.
6.1 Controlling the direction of rotation
All pumps are factory checked and set to the correct direction of rotation.
The correct direction of rotation must be tested before the pump is submerged.

Hang the pump in the hoist.
●
Briefly switch the pump on manually. The pump will move in the opposite direction.
●
Where the direction of rotation is incorrect, proceed as follows:
- Where you are using Wilo switchgear:
The Wilo switchgear is designed to ensure that the pump connected runs in the correct
direction of rotation. Where the direction of rotation is incorrect, interchange 2 of the
phases on the supply side of the switchgear.
Where you are using your own switchgear:

If the direction of rotation is incorrect, for direct-start motors, 2 phases must be
interchanged, whereas for delta star starting, the connections for two windings must
be interchanged, e.g. U1 could be switched with V1 and U2 with V2.
6.2 Adjusting the control level
Adjusting the control level: see instructions for assembly and installation of the control level.
The switch-off point must be set so as to ensure that the entire unit operates only when
submerged (switch-off point = upper edge of motor).
7 Maintenance
The pump must be switched off for all repair work and secured against unauthorised
operation.
In order to avoid infection, maintenance work should only be carried out using suit-
able protective gloves.
For reasons of safety, maintenance work should only be carried out in the presence
of another person.
7.1 General
The pump stations for pumps STS80/100 must be maintained by trained specialists in
accordance with EN 12056-4. The maintenance intervals must not exceed:

¼ year for industrial use,
●
½ year for stations in multiple-family dwellings,
●
1 year for stations in single-family dwellings.
The operator is responsible for ensuring that inspection and assembly are carried out by
authorised and qualified personnel who have studied the operating instructions closely.
By drawing up a maintenance plan, costly repairs can be avoided with a minimum of
maintenance expense and fault-free pump operation obtained. Wilo Service is available for all
initial commissioning and maintenance work.
A record is to be kept of any maintenance.
