are present, take all necessary steps to avoid direct
contact of the ring on the edge(s), or set up protection
on the edges in question.
GB
• Limitations of use (fi g. 3).
• The Maximum operating load of the AS anchor ring is
150 kg. By reference to their respective manuals, you
must make sure before use that all the components
of the fall-arrest system are compatible with this load.
If this is not the case, the maximum load will be that
of the fall-arrest system component with the lowest
maximum load.
• Temperature of use: -35°C to 60°C for the AS anchor
ring.
• The fall-arrest system is moored to the AS anchor
ring with a connector.

5. Operating principle

5. Operating principle
AS anchor rings can be installed on the host structure
following two types of connector docking to the AS
anchor ring:
– Type 1: Mooring on a single loop as in Figure 3.a.
– Type 2: Mooring on two loops as in Figure 3.b.
The AS19 S anchor ring must be installed on the host
structure only when using the attachment type 2 to the
connector.
The AS30 S anchor ring can be installed on the host
structure using the two types of connector mooring.
DANGER: In no circumstances may the AS19 S
anchor ring be installed on the host structure when
using type 1 connector mooring.
Type 2 installation
• Take one end of the AS anchor ring and pass it
around the host structure.
• Moor the connector onto the two loops in compliance
with the fall-arrest usage instructions associated
therewith.
IMPORTANT: In no circumstances should the
opening angle between the two loops moored to the
connector exceed a 90° angle (Fig 3.e). If this is the
case, use a longer AS anchor ring.

Type 1 installation
• Take one end of the AS anchor ring and pass it
around the host structure.
• Slide the second end of the AS anchoring ring into
the fi rst end.
• Moor the connector onto the second loop in
compliance with the fall-arrest usage instructions
associated therewith.

DANGER: Before installation of a ring on a host
structure, check that:
• The resistance of the host structure is at least 13 kN.
• The constriction resistance of the host structure is
compatible with a load of 13 kN.
6. Clearance
6. Clearance
The air clearance H (fi gure 1.g) is the free space under
the feet of the operator. It is defi ned by the formula:
H = 0.2 m + Ha
which breaks down as follows:
0.2 m = maximum deformation of AS anchor ring.
Ha = The fall-arrester clearance as indicated in the the
user manual of fall-arrest components.

7. Prohibited use

7. Prohibited use
Figure 2.
It is strictly forbidden:
• to install or use the AS ring anchor without being
authorised, trained and recognised as competent
or failing that, without being under the supervision
of an authorised person, trained and recognised as
competent.
• to use the AS anchor ring if the marking is not legible.
• to install or use an AS anchor ring that has not been
subject to prior inspection.
• to use an AS anchor ring that has not been the
subject of periodic inspection during the previous 12
months, by a technician who has authorised its return
to use in writing.
• to use an AS anchoring ring for any application other
than those described in this manual.
• to secure the AS anchor ring using any means other
than those described in this manual.
• to use the AS anchor ring in contradiction with the
information defi ned in the section on «Lifespan».
• to use an AS anchor ring as fall protection for more
than 1 operator.
• to use an AS anchor ring for an operator whose
weight, including equipment and tooling, exceeds
150 kg.
• to use an AS anchor ring at a load of between 100
kg and 150 kg (total weight of the operator, their
equipment and tools) if any component of the fall-
arrest system has a lower maximum operating load.
• to use an AS anchor ring if it has served in a fall
arrest.
• to use an AS anchor ring in explosive atmospheres.
• to use an AS anchor ring outside the temperature
ranges specifi ed in this manual.
• to use an AS anchor ring if the clearance is not
suffi cient if the operator falls.
• to use an AS anchor ring if there is an obstacle in
