• The work position support lanyard shall be used
exclusively for the protection of persons in working
position or restraint.
• The work position support lanyard shall be connected
to an anchor point of resistance R of 12 kN or more.
• The maximum working load of the work position
support lanyard is 150 kg. It is imperative to ensure,
before use, that all elements of the work position
support system are compatible with this load by
referring to their respective instructions. If this is not
the case, the maximum load will be that of the work
position support system element that has the lowest
load rating.
• Service temperature: -30° C to 60° C for the work
position support lanyard.
DANGER
Never use a work position support lanyard as a
fall arrest system. If there is a risk of the operator
falling from height, use a fall arrest system
compliant with EN 363 as well.
DANGER
If the layout of the work to be performed includes
supports that have sharp edges, you will need to
add a protective sleeve.

5. Operating principle

Usage:
To be able to use the work position support lanyard, you
need to connect it to each of the two rings of the EN 358
work position support belt.
• Connect the carabiner hook of the work position
support lanyard (figure 2.a) to one of the side hooking
points of the belt, and check the correct locking of the
connector.
• Connect the other connector to the other side hooking
point of the belt, passing the lanyard around the
support structure (Figure 2.b).
• When setting up, adjusting and using the work position
support lanyard, it must be kept taut.
Adjusting the length of the work position support
lanyard:
• Pull on the lanyard as shown in Figure 2.c.
• Tighten the LDR, LCM03, LCM05 and LCM06.
The LCM03, LCM05 and LCM06 turn-buckles are
devices that cannot be assembled and disassembled
in use.

Tensioners can only be fitted on ropes supplied by
TRACTEL
Tensioner LCM03:
placed on Ø 14 mm reinforced
halyard.
Tensioner LCM05:
placed on Ø 12.5 mm halyard
Tensioner LCM06:
placed on Ø 14 mm stranded
rope.

6. Prohibited use

It is strictly forbidden:
1. install or use this equipment without the proper
authorization, training and recognition or, failing
that, without the supervision of an authorized,
trained and recognized competent person.
2. to use this equipment if any of the markings are not
legible.
3. to install or use this equipment without first having
carried out the preliminary checks.
4. to use this equipment which has not been covered
by a periodic inspection over the past 12 months by
a technician having authorised re-use in writing.
5. to connect this equipment to a point which has not
been covered by a periodic inspection over the past
12 months by a technician having authorised re-use
in writing.
6. to use this equipment for any other application than
for the protection of persons for support at the work
position.
7. to use this equipment as a fall arrest system. If there
is a risk of the operator falling from height, use a fall
arrest system compliant with EN 363 as well.
8. to attach the work position support lanyard by any
means other than its anchor point.
9. to use this equipment in contradiction with the
information specified in the section "§. Life span".
10. to use this equipment as a fall protection system for
more than 1 person.
11. to use this equipment by a person whose weight,
equipment included, is greater than 150 kg.
12. to use this equipment at a load of between 100kg
and 150kg (the total weight of the operator, their
equipment and tools) if a part of the work position
support system has a lower maximum working load.
13. to use this equipment if it has arrested a person
falling.
14. to use this equipment in a highly corrosive or
explosive atmosphere.
