3. If no leaking fuel is present, light the fuel in the Burner Head. See Illustration 6. Note: It is pos-
sible to prime the stove from the Overflow Pan only; however, this will be more difficult in windy
conditions and will result in more soot on the underside of the stove
4. Place the Windscreen around the stove only. Important! Ensure that the pump and fuel bottle are
outside of the windscreen. See Illustration 5. Fold the ends of the windscreen together.
TURNING THE STOVE ON
1. When the preheating fuel has burned to a small flame, gradually open the Control Valve.
See illustration 7. Opening the control valve gradually allows the Generator tube (W) to heat
effectively and vaporize all the fuel flowing to the jet (X).
IMPORTANT!
 If the stove goes out, firmly close the Control Valve and wait for the stove to cool. Repeat the
preheating procedure. See "Preheating the Stove."
 If the stove burns with an erratic yellow flame, firmly close the Control Valve and allow the stove
to continue preheating until the preheating fuel has burned to a small flame. Open the Control
Valve gradually. See "Turning the Stove On."
 If the stove flares intermittently with yellow and blue flames, turn the control valve down until
the stove burns with a steady blue flame.
2. While the stove is in use, periodically pump the Plunger three to five strokes to maintain fuel bottle
pressure.
Tips On Optimum Fuel Bottle Pressure
Higher fuel bottle pressure increases heat output and improves boil time.
Lower fuel bottle pressure reduces heat output and enhances simmering.
TURNING THE STOVE OFF, DISASSEMBLING, & TRANSPORTING
1. Close the Control Valve firmly. The flame will continue to burn for approximately one to two minutes
due to residual fuel inside the Fuel Line. Wait for the stove to cool before disassembling.
2. After the flame is out and the stove is cool, unlock the Catch Arm and remove the Fuel Line from
the Pump.
3. Rotate Pot Supports back to the packed position.
4. To depressurize the fuel bottle, hold the fuel bottle upright, away from your face and any sources
of heat, sparks or flame. Place your other hand securely over the top of the pump. Turn the pump
counterclockwise to relieve pressure.
5. To transport or store the fuel bottle, the pump may be left inside the fuel bottle. The pump can
also be removed and replaced with the fuel bottle cap.

STOVE MAINTENANCE

Deposits in the Jet and Fuel Line reduce fuel flow and impair stove performance. Minor deposits
in the Jet can usually be cleared with the Shaker Needle (O). More extensive deposits may require
extensive cleaning of the Jet or Fuel Line.
QUICKLY CLEARING THE JET
1. Close the Control Valve firmly and allow stove to cool.
2. Shake the stove up and down. An audible "rattle" is proof that the Shaker Needle is functioning as
designed.
3. Restart the stove. If performance does not improve, See EXTENSIVE CLEANING OF THE JET AND
FUEL LINE.
EXTENSIVE CLEANING OF THE JET AND FUEL LINE
1. Remove the Top (M) and Bottom Screw (P) with the Jet & Cable Tool (L). See Illustration 8.
2. Remove Fuel Line Leg Clip (V) from leg.
3. Rotate the Pot Supports back to the packed position.
4. Pull the Burner Head/Mixer Tube assembly away from the Pot Support/Overflow Pan assembly.
5. Remove the Fuel Line Elbow (U) from the Mixer Tube (Y). See Illustration 8.
6. To remove the Jet, invert the Burner Head/Mixer Tube assembly and use it to hold the Fuel Line
Elbow. See Illustrations 9 & 10. Unscrew the Jet using Jet & Cable Tool.
IMPORTANT! Do Not bend Generator Tube (W) while loosening the Jet.
7. Remove the Shaker Needle and use it to clear the Jet orifice from the top or bottom.
8. Pull the Cable (R) out of the Fuel Line using the Jet and Cable Tool. See Illustration 11.
Note: If the Cable cannot be removed, spray a common lubricant such as WD-40™ inside the
Fuel Line Elbow and let soak for approximately 15 minutes before removal. (Pump cup oil may be
used instead of a lubricant spray).
9. Reinsert the Cable. Using short strokes, push the cable back and forth inside the Fuel Line approx-
imately 20 times.
10.Flush the Fuel Line. Warning: When flushing the Fuel Line, keep away from heat, sparks, and
flame. With the Cable, Jet, and Shaker Needle removed, insert the end of the Fuel Line into the
pump and fuel bottle. Pressurize the fuel bottle with 10 to 15 plunger strokes. Open Control Valve
fully and flush 2-3 tablespoons (1-2 oz.) of fuel through the Fuel Line into an appropriate con-
tainer. Safely dispose of fuel when flushing is complete
11.Reassemble stove. If stove performance is still impaired, repeat steps 8, 9 & 10.
