Drilling metal
• Select drill mode
with the Mode Selector (5) and the required gear (typically 2nd
gear)
• Ensure that drill bits are suitable for the grade of metal being drilled and are within the
maximum capacity of the machine (see "Specification")
• To ensure accuracy, mark the intended hole position using a hammer and centre punch
WARNING: The drill bit and the workpiece will become very hot when drilling metal. DO
NOT touch the bit and never allow it to come into contact with combustible materials when
hot. Always use a suitable lubricant or cutting fluid, and drill at appropriate speeds.
• Only apply moderate pressure to the drill bit, ensuring efficient cutting and prolonged
drill bit life
• Use a countersink bit to remove sharp burrs from the hole, preventing cuts and other
kinds of injury
Drilling masonry
• Select hammer drill mode
with the Mode Selector (5) and the required gear (typically
2nd gear)
• Always use a masonry drill bit, preferably a TCT masonry bit, when drilling into walls,
stone or concrete
• DO NOT apply too much pressure to the back of the tool. If debris blocks the drill hole,
run the drill slowly and remove the bit from the hole. Repeat until the hole is clear of
debris and continue
Accessories
• A full range of accessories, including drill bits, screwdriver bits, wire brushes etc, is
available from your Silverline dealer. Spare batteries can be ordered through your
Silverline dealer or toolsparesonline.com.

enough into the workpiece
Screws are driven too deep into
the workpiece surface
During masonry drilling the drill

Possible cause
Battery not fully seated
Battery Charger (17) not powered
Battery not being fully charged
Battery has been charged over 300 times and capacity
has started to reduce
The Forward/Reverse Switch (8) may be in the middle
("locked") position
Battery completely discharged
Defective Battery
Drill defective
Not enough torque; Torque Selector (4) setting too low
Low battery voltage
Too much torque; Torque Selector (4) setting too high
Unsuitable or blunt drill bit
Drill bit diameter too large
Drill not set to hammer mode
Maintenance
WARNING: Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before carrying out any
maintenance/cleaning of the Battery Charger (17). Remove the Battery (11) before carrying
out any maintenance/cleaning of the drill.
Note: Both the drill and the Charger contain no user-serviceable parts. If the device does
not perform as outlined in this manual, return it to an authorised Silverline service centre
for repair.
Cleaning
• Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear
quickly, and shorten the machine's service life. Clean the body of your machine with a
soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the
ventilation holes
Storage
• Store this tool in its original case where provided after it has been thoroughly cleaned
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children. Store in its
original case if a case is provided
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, batteries, or other waste electrical and electronic
equipment (WEEE), with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to
dispose of power tools or batteries
Solution
Clean Battery Contacts (18)
Recheck mains connection
Charge the Battery until Red LED (20) is extinguished
This is normal for batteries. Contact your Silverline dealer to purchase a
replacement battery
Slide the Forward/Reverse Switch either to the left or right
Recharge Battery or replace with a fully charged battery
Replace Battery
Contact your Silverline dealer or authorised service centre
Choose a higher torque setting
Recharge Battery or replace with a fully charged battery
Choose a lower torque setting
Replace drill bit with a new high quality masonry drill bit
See 'Specification' for maximum drilling capacities
Rotate mode selector to switch the machine into hammer drill mode (see
'Drill mode selection')
