4.
Fix the rescue lanyard to the chest or rear of the harness/rescue harness/rescue
sling. The operator grabs and pulls the lanyard feed downwards so that the lanyard
between the equipment and the user is fully tensioned. The operator then bends
the knees until the rescue harness/lanyard carries the operator's full weight. The
operator then carefully swings outwards. Descent starts when the grip on the lan-
yard feed is released.
KEEP CALM!
5.
As soon as the first person/persons have reached safety and released themselves
from the lanyard, the next person/persons can hook up to the lanyard feed (which
will now become the rescue lanyard) using the snap hook by the lanyard arrestor.
When rEsq dd™ is used as stationary equipment for evacuation in emergency situ-
ations, for example up in the nacelle of a wind turbine, the lanyard length is often
adapted between the two snap hooks so that the users will reach ground at the
same time as the free snap hook arrives at the lanyard arrestor.
