INspEctIoN, storagE aNd lIfEcyclE
rEsq dd™ is intended for an emergency situation and must be inspected regularly.
Inspection and packing must, in compliance with EN 365, be carried out every 12 months
(every 6th month in certain countries) by a Competent Person.
Instructions for the user's responsibility regarding inspection can be found in chapter 4 -
inspections.
rEsq dd™ is intended for training and education purposes for which the equipment is
regularly unpacked, used and re-packaged by students and instructors. The manufacturer
has user instructions, training and courses that regulate the user's responsibility for this
type of equipment.
All rescue and fall protection equipment have long lifecycles if stored in a dry location
away from direct sunlight. The equipment may not come into contact with oil, chemicals
or corrosive substances.
Depending on type the supplied lanyard has a maximum lifecycle of 4–6 years. A lanyard
that has been stored in an unbroken, sealed vacuum package (optional extra when
ordering) has a guaranteed lifecycle of 10 years. Following the guaranteed lifecycle a full
service must be carried out by a CRESTO-approved expert.
Inspection and possible replacement of the equipment's lanyards and other parts must
be carried out by a CRESTO-approved expert and be documented on the inspection card
provided, which must always be kept together with the rescue and evacuation equip-
ment rEsq dd™. The planned date for the next inspection must also be clearly entered
on the inspection card and inspection stickers on both equipment and bag.
