The M800 transmitter must only be installed, connected, commissioned, and maintained by
qualified specialists e.g. electrical technicians in full compliance with the instructions in this
Quick Setup Guide, the applicable norms and legal regulations.
The specialist must have read and understood this Quick Setup Guide and must follow the
instructions it contains. If you are unclear on anything in this Quick Setup Guide, you must read
the Operation Manual (download from www.mt.com/m800-downloads). The Operation Man-
ual provides detailed information on the instrument.
The M800 transmitter should be operated only by personnel familiar with the transmitter and
who are qualified for such work.
Intended Use
The M800 is a 4-wire transmitter for analytical measurements with 4 (0) to 20 mA output
signal . The M800 is a multi-parameter transmitter and supports the measurements listed in

the parameter fit guides. The 2-channel and 4-channel versions are compatible with ISM and
flow sensors. The 1-channel version is compatible with analog and ISM sensors .

The M800 transmitter is designed for use in the process industries, in non-hazardous areas.
