It also uses colorimetry to measure and ma-
nage the amount of chlorine produced by
either an external electrolyser or an external
liquid chlorine injection pump.

The Selwatch platinum is an electrolyser that is
regulated by colorimetric analysis. It works to
maintain an exact and constant chlorine content
in your swimming pool. It also measures and
regulates the pH using colorimetry:

before switching on
The electrolysis phenomenon is based upon
the regeneration of salt molecules.
It is therefore essential that your pool is ex-
posed regularly to the open air during the
season (particularly for pools fitted with an
opaque blind or a shelter).
If a cell operates in cold water then this will
create an over-voltage, resulting in the elec-
trodes wearing out faster.

Stop the Selwatch if the temperature drops
below 15°C.
Stop the Selwatch during swimming pool hi-
bernation. Check that all of the settings (pH,
salt, stabiliser) are correct before starting up
again.
In order for the Selwatch electrolysers
to work properly, the pool must adhere to
the following parameters:
- the pH of your water must be between 7.0
and 7.4
- the salt content must be 3.2 g minimum,
although 4 g/l is recommended
- the stabiliser content must be between 20
g/m3 and 70 g/m3 maximum
- the temperature of your water must be
higher than 15°C
- the filtration time and the setting are
adjuted to ensure a chlorine content of
between 0.5 g/m³ and 2 g/m³ of water.
- recommended TAC between 8°F and 15°F
The above rules do not apply in the case of public
swimming pools. Please check the regulations in
force in your country.
Do not start the electrolyser
in a swimming pool:
- If the chlorine content is above 5 ppm,
wait until it drops to below 5 ppm before
starting the electrolyser.
- If the swimming pool has been treated
with hydrogen peroxide or a hydrogen-
peroxide based anti-algae agent in the
three weeks preceding installation.
Check with a professional that the hydraulic
circuit has no air in it.
If you use an external chlorine meter pump,
remember to size the pump according to the
swimming pool's volume and amount of use.
When changing reagents, remember to reset
the gauge to zero.
