Recoil Starter
a, With theengine running,pull the starterropewith a rapid,
continuousfull armstrokethreeor fourtimes,
Electric
Starter
a, Connectpowercordto switch box,then to 120VoltAC
receptacle,
b, While the engineis running,pushthe starterbutton andspin
the starterforseveralseconds,
c, Disconnectpowercordfrom the receptaclefirst, then from the
snowthrower,
NOTE:The loud clatteringsoundheardfrom pullingthe starterrope or
spinningthe starterwill not harmthe engine,
To Stop The Snow Thrower
1, Tostop the wheels,releasethe drivecontrolon the snowthrower,
2, Tostop throwingsnow,releaseaugercontrol,
3, Tostop engine,pushthrottlecontrol leverto "stop"or "off" and
removeignitionkey (Do notturn key) to preventunauthorized use
of equipment,
To Engage
Drive
1, With theengine runningneartop speed,moveshift leverto one
of six FORWARD positionsor two REVERSE positions.Selecta
speedappropriatefor the snowconditionsthat exist, Useslower
speedsuntilyou are familiarwith the process,
2, Squeezedrive controlagainstthe righthandleand the snow
throwerwill move,Releaseit and thedrive motionwillstop,
To Engage
Augers
1, Toengageaugersand start snow throwing,squeezethe left hand
augercontrolagainstthe left handle,Releaseto stopaugers,
2, Whilethe augercontrolis engaged,squeezethe drivecontrol
to move,releaseto stop,Do notshift speedswhilethe driveis
engaged,
NOTE:This sameleveralso locksaugercontrolso you canturn
the chutedirectionalcontrolwithoutinterruptingthe snowthrowing
process,
3, Releasethe auger control;the interlockmechanismshouldkeep
the augercontrolengageduntilthe drivecontrol is released,
4, Releasethe drivecontrolto stop boththe augersand the wheel
drive,Tostop the auger,bothleversmustbe released,
To Throw
Snow
CAUTION: C heckthe area to be clearedfor foreign
obiects,Remove,if any,
1, Startthe enginefollowingstartinginstructions,
2, Rotatethedischargechuteto the desiredposition,(awayfrom
bystanders and/or buildings)bymovingthe chutecontrol,
3, Selectthe speedaccordingto snowcondition,
CAUTION:Nevermovethe shift leverwithoutfirst
releasingthe drivecontrol
4, Engagethe augerand drivecontrolsfollowinginstructionsabove,
5, The interlockfeaturewillallowyou to removeyourleft handfrom
the auger control
6, Whenclearingthe first pass throughthe snow,controlspeedof
snow throweraccordingto the depthand conditionof snow,
7, Toturn the unit left or right,squeezethe respective wheelsteering
control See Figure13,
8, On eachsucceedingpass, readiustthe chuteto the desired
positionand slightlyoverlappreviouspath,
9, After the area is cleared,stopthe snow throwerfollowinginstruc-
tions givenbelow,
Operating
Tips
WARNING: Thetemperature of muffler and sur-
rounding areas may exceed 1500F. Avoid these
areas.
1, Formostefficientsnow removal,removesnowimmediately after it
falls,
2, Dischargesnowdownwindwheneverpossible,Slightlyoverlap
each previousswath,
3, Setthe skid shoes 1/4"belowthe scraperbar for normalusage,
The skid shoes maybe adjustedupwardfor hard-packed snow,
NOTE: It is not recommended that you operatethis snowthroweron
gravelas loosegravelcan be easily pickedup and thrownbythe auger
causingan iniuryor damagetothe snow thrower,
4, if for some reason,you haveto operatethe snowthroweron gravel,
keepthe skid shoe in the highestpositionfor maximumclearance
betweengroundand shaveplate,
5, Cleanthe snowthrowerthoroughlyafter eachuse,
