7. Starting up
Notes when using batteries
• We recommend using rechargeable 1.2V NiMH batteries, as these last
longer.
• You may, however, also use 1.5 V alkali batteries.
• Battery power is reduced in cold environments (-10°C or colder,
applicable in particular for alkali type batteries).
• Warm up the batteries before using them in cold environments (e.g. in the
pocket of your clothes).
Do not dispose of used or defective batteries with the
household rubbish. Batteries should be deposited at a
collection point for used batteries.
