Press the tabs on the air filter cover (1) and lift the cover (2)
up and off of the engine. See Figure 6-7.

Lift the air filter ele ent up and off of the engine (3) as
shown in Figure 6-7.

Replace the paper ele ent when dirty or da aged. Clean
foa ele ent or replace when dirty or da aged.

To clean foa ele ent, separate it fro
and wash in liquid detergent and water. Allow to dry
thoroughly before using. Do not oil the foa ele ent.
7.
Replace the air filter ele ent, then replace the air filter
cover until the tabs on the cover click securely into place.
See Figure 6-8.

Replace the engine cover in the reverse order in which
it was re oved, securing it with the two SEMS screws
previously re oved.

Drive Cable Adjustment
It
ay be necessary fro
ti e to ti e to adjust the drive cable
used to engage the tires and propel the unit forward. If the unit
does not propel itself with the drive control engaged, or if the
unit's wheels hesitate with the drive control lever fully engaged,
follow these instructions to properly adjust the drive cable:
1.
Locate the thu b wheel on the drive cable just above the
drive control lever on the power base, see Figure 6-9.
2.
With the engine running, rotate the thu b wheel
counter- clockwise in incre ents of one to two turns. Test
drive between adjust ent incre ents. Adjust to personal
preference. In general, if unit is against a stationary object,
the wheels should spin.

satisfactory for
ost conditions. If adjust ents are needed,
contact your Authorized Troy-bilt Service Dealer.

Carburetor

If you think the carburetor needs adjusting, see your nearest
Authorized Troy-bilt Service Dealer. Engine perfor ance should
NOT be affected at altitudes up to 7,000 feet (2,134
operation at higher elevations, contact your Authorized Troy-bilt
Service Dealer.

Engine Speed

WARNING!
To avoid serious injury or death, DO
NOT
odify engine in any way. Ta pering with the
governor setting can lead to a runaway engine and
cause it to operate at unsafe speeds. NEVER ta per
with the factory setting of the engine governor.

Running the engine faster than the
speed set at the factory can be dangerous and will
