CHAPTER 5 – STORAGE
DANGER
o When draining the engine fuel,
use a pan to collect it and avoid
spilling out.
o Before covering the machine
with a sheet, make sure that the
engine and the muffler are
sufficiently cold.
WARNING
o Store the machine on a flat and
stable surface. If it's put away on
a downhill surface, use blocking
bars so that the machine cannot
move.
CAUTION
o Switch off the engine before
performing maintenance. Make
sure that hot components have
cooled off sufficiently.
o Remove any inflammable object
away from the working area
before performing maintenance.
1. Carry out daily maintenance
every time you use the machine
o Within the same day of use, wash
the machine and dry it. Then
lubricate rotating and sliding parts
with oil.
o Clean the air filter properly.
o Check the starting rope and
remove grass or dirt stuck in the
protection grids.
CAUTION
o Pay attention when washing the
machine that water does not go
inside the air filter plug as this
could ruin it.
o Make sure that water does not
get into contact with the
machine's electrical components
as these could get ruined.
2. Preparing to store away for a long
period of time
1. Put the machine in a dry and well-
ventilated place and make sure that
the transport box is lowered.
2. Smear rustproof oil, engine oil or
grease to those external parts subject
to corrosion.
3. For storing operations concerning
the engine, refer to the engine's
"Use and Maintenance" handbook.
