HOOD INSTALLATION
NOTE: A minimum of three people or 1 person and a
handlift are recommended to install the Island Hood
to the mounting structure.
Refer to Table 1 for the appliance weight.
1.
Place transition on hood so that the holes line up for
the screws placement on both ends of the transition.
Secure with #8 sheetmetal screws, and seal with duct
tape. See Fig. D.
2.
Place mounting structure bottom frame over transition
to top of hood. Install bottom frame to top of hood by
securing nuts provided to welded studs in Hood. See
Fig. E.
(Refer to PHI Island Hood manual for further details.)
3.
Secure top of hood end covers with countersink screws
provided. See Fig. F.
4.
Hoist and line up the attached bottom frame, transition
and hood to the top chimney frame (already mounted
to ceiling). Fasten mounting structures together with
phillipshead screws provided. See Fig. G, next page.
5.
Fasten duct to transition with screws and tape per code.
Note: screws must not hamper the damper.
6.
Remove Chimney Cover's plastic protective film.
Reassemble and fasten two top covers together first,
then the two bottom covers together with #6 counter
sink screws provided. See Fig. H.
NOTE: When fastening screws, do not over-
tighten and deform metal.
