Procedure of upgrading of the XSATHP FIRMWARE
It is possible to upgrade the firmware of the satellite board, via direct connection to PC.
In order to carry out this procedure, it is necessary to have available:
® PC with USB ports
® HPWIN software installed on PC
® USB connection cable
® FIRMWARE file of satellite, available on the web site www.avselectronics.com
Procedure:
1. In case of connection to an AVS control panel; as first step, it is necessary to activate the
function "Menu Block of the control panel (in order to avoid the communication tamper of the
XSATHP)
2. Set all dips of SW1 in OFF in XSATHP
3. Set DIP8 of SW1 in ON
4. Press and release the RESET pushbutton on the satellite board
5. As soon as the alarm relay on the satellites commutes, put again DIP8 of SW1 in OFF
6. Connect the USB cable to the PC
7. Carry out the upgrading guided procedure from HPWIN
8. Once finished the procedure, disconnect the cable
9. Press and then release the RESET pushbutton on the satellite board
10. In case of connection to an AVS control panel, put again DIP in ON and leave the "Menu Block"
mode of the control panel, in order to be back to date/time
NOTE: during the procedure of firmware upgrading, the keypads connected on the same serial as
XSATHP might result as not connected. As soon as the satellite upgrading procedure is
finished, the communication between control panel and keypads will restore.
Procedure of connection to PC
In order to connect the satellite to the PC via the HPWIN software, it is necessary to connect the
USB cable before activating the USB communication of the satellite closing the jumper
S4.
Procedure:
1. Connect the USB cable to PC
2. Close the jumper S4 to activate the USB connection
3. Carry out the connection by HPWIN
4. Once the procedure is finished, disconnect the cable
5. Open the jumper S4 to disconnect the USB connection
Minimal parameters for connecting to PC in PSTN/GSM
To connect the satellite to PC using the HPWIN software, it is necessary to program:
® Access password
® Programming password
® Up/downloading account
These data are automatically transferred at any satellite connection via USB and are then used in
the remote connections on PSTN or GSM line.
For this reason, it is necessary to always carry out a direct connection via the USB port, before
having remote access to the satellite via the PSTN or the GSM line.
