• Press the pipetting pushbutton smoothly and
slowly to the blow-out stop, dispensing the liq-
uid, (Fig. 3D).
• Wait one second.
• Press the pipetting pushbutton to the final
stop, blowing out any remaining liquid.
• Hold the pipetting pushbutton depressed, and
remove the tip from the receiving vessel, dra -
wing it against the vessel inner wall.
• Release the pipetting pushbutton to its start-
ing position, (Fig. 3F).
Replace the tip with a new one whenever a dif-
ferent liquid is to be pipetted.
Ejecting the Tip
• Place your thumb against the ejector push-
button side (Fig. 2D), press and turn it. The tip
will be ejected from the pipette shaft.

3 - HTL PIPETTING TIPS

HTL tips are made of pure polypropylene. Their
quality ensures proper operation of CLINIPET +
pipettes, and secures pipetting accuracy and
repeatability.
Accuracy (A) and repeatability (P) of CLINIPET +
pipettes was determined using HTL tips. Using
other tips may result in deterioration of pipetting
accuracy and repeatability.
Tip 200
This tip is used for volumes from 2 μl to 200 μl.
Tip 1000
This tip is used for volumes from 200 μl to 1000 μl.

4 - RECOMMENDATIONS

Observing the following recommendations will
ensure maximum possible accuracy and preci-
sion of liquid sampling.
• Operate the pipette pushbutton slowly and
smoothly when liquid aspiring and dispensing.
• The depth of tip immersion in the aspired liq-
uid should be kept at necessary minimum,
and should remain constant during aspiration.
5
• While operating, the pipette should be held in
a vertical position.
• The tip should be replaced with a new one
each time a different kind of liquid is handled.
• The tip should also be changed if visible dro -
plets of liquid remain inside it.
• Each new tip should be pre-rinsed with the
pipetted liquid.
• Pipetted liquid must not enter the pipette shaft.
To ensure this:
- operate the pipetting pushbutton slowly and
smoothly;
- do not lay the pipette down in a horizontal
position if there is any liquid in the tip.
• Do not aspirate liquids of temperatures abo ve
70°C.
• After pipetting acids and aggressive liquids, it
is recommended to disassemble the pipette
and rinse the pipette plunger, shaft, seal and
other elements in distilled water.

5 - RECALIBRATION

HTL pipettes are calibrated by gravimetric
method, using HTL tips and distilled water,
at temperature 20 ±1°C according to EN ISO
8655 standard.
If during pipette operation or checking you find
that the accuracy error (A) - the difference bet -
ween the real aspirated volume and the nominal
pipette volume, exceeds the permissible value
given in the table in section 1, the pipette recali-
bration procedure should be carried out.
Before starting the recalibration procedure
check the conditions under which the accuracy
error (A) has been determined and ensure whe -
ther:
• the ambient temperature and the temperature
of the pipette, tips and water is the same
• the density of the liquid used is close to that of
distilled water
• balances of appropriate sensitivity have been
used
