TROUBLESHOOTING
If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the set for repair.
If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or service center.
WARNING:
Under no circumstances should you try to repair the set yourself, as this
would invalidate the warranty
PROBLEM

GENERAL
No sound
– VOLUME is not adjusted.
• Adjust the VOLUME.
– Headphones are connected.
• Disconnect headphones.
Set does not react to operation of
any of the controls
– Electrostatic discharge.
• Switch off the set, disconnect the power
plug, reconnect after a few seconds.
CD PLAYER
CD playback does not work
– CD is badly scratched or dirty.
• Replace or clean the CD, see Maintenance.
– Laser lens steamed up.
• Wait until lens has acclimatized.
Environmental information
All redundant packaging material has been omitted. We have done our utmost to make the
packaging easily separable into three mono materials: cardboard (box), expandable polystyrene
(buffer) and polyethylene (bags, protective foam sheet).
Your set consists of materials which can be recycled if disassembled by a
specialized company. Please observe the local regulations regarding the disposal of
packaging materials, exhausted batteries and old equipment.

RADIO
Crackling sound during FM broadcast
– Weak signal.
• Aim and extend the pigtail antenna fully.
Continuous crackling / hiss disturbance
during AM broadcast
– Electrical interference from TVs, computers,
fluorescent lamps, etc.
• Move the set away from other electrical
equipment.
ALARM
The alarm does not function
– Alarm time not set.
• Set the alarm time.
– Alarm mode not selected.

– Day selection not set/incorrect
• See chapter on SETTING THE DAY
– Volume too low for RADIO/CD/TRACK
SELECT alarm mode
• Adjust the volume
