TROUBLESHOOTING FOR LIGHT OIL BURNERS
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1) Photoresistance is broken or fouled with
smoke
2) Insufficient draught
3) Photoresistance circuit failure
4) Fouled disk or opening
1) The ignition circuit is cut off
2) The ignition transformer wires are dried
out
3) The ignition transformer wires have not
been connected
4) Ignition transformer failure
5) The gap between the electrodes is not
correct
6) The electrodes discharge to ground
because they are fouled or because the
insulation is cracked; remember to check
under the clamps securing the insulation
1) Pump pressure is not uniform
2) There is water in the fuel
3) Excessive combustion air
4) The air passage between the disk and
the opening has been closed off too
much
5) Nozzles is worn or fouled
1) One phase is missing
2) Electric motor failure

REMEDY
1) Clean or replace
2) Check all smoke outlets in the boiler
and flue
3) Replace the unit
