Checking the raw water pump
The rubber impeller of the raw water pump
must not be allowed to run dry. If the water
supply has been blocked, it may be nec-
essary to replace the impeller. Always
make sure you have a spare impeller on
board.

Removing the pump cover
Proceed as follows for inspection and
replacement:
• Close the sea cock.
• Remove the cover from the pump by
unscrewing the screws from the hous-
ing.
Checking the raw water pump
Every 1000 operating hours, at least once every 2 years.

Removing the impeller
• Use water pump pliers to slide the
impeller from the shaft.
• Mark the impeller; if it is to be re-fitted,
the impeller must be positioned in the
housing in the same way.
