Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting Chart
While normal care and regular maintenance will extend
the life of your equipment, prolonged or constant use
may eventually require that service be performed to
allow it to continue operating properly.
The troubleshooting guide below lists the most
common problems, their causes and remedies.
See the information in the Maintenance Section for
instructions on how to perform most of these minor
adjustments and service repairs yourself. If you prefer,
all of these procedures can be performed for you by
your local authorized dealer.
Troubleshooting the Snow Blower
PROBLEM
Blower does not turn on.
Discharge chute does
not rotate
Auger does not rotate
Snow blower vibrates
excessively
Uneven cut on
bottom of blower

CAUSE
1. PTO switch in wrong position
1. Discharge chute not lubricated
2. Something is caught in the
discharge fan.
3. Electric Motor defective
1. Broken shear bolt.
2. Faulty auger gearbox.
1. Faulty bearings (gearbox, auger or
discharge fan).
2. Auger or discharge fan bent or broken.
3. Faulty gearbox.
1. Scraper bar is worn back to blower
housing.
2. Skid shoues out of adjustment.
WARNING
• To avoid serious injury, perform maintenance on the
tractor or mower only when the engine is stopped
and the parking brake is engaged.
• Always remove the ignition key, disconnect the
spark plug wire and fasten it away from the plug
before beginning the maintenance, to prevent
accidental starting of the engine.
REMEDY
1. Pull PTO switch
1. Lubricate discharge chute.
2. Inspect and remove foeign material with
engine off and all motion stopped
3. See your dealer
1. Replace shear bolt.

1. Replace or reverse scraper bar.
2. Check and adjust shoes accordingly.
