FITTING THE CRANK ASSEMBLY IN THE FRAME
Fitting the crank assembly in the frame:
Since the ZED 2 crank assembly is in a single-piece component, when installing, the non-drive
side must be placed through the frame, as shown in figure 6. The pedal on the drive side may be
mounted before being fitting onto the frame, which is not the case for the non-drive side pedal,
which should be fitted after the ZED 2 crank assembly is properly mounted onto the frame.
- The fitting operation requires no specific tools; however, we highly recommend that you contact
your LOOK authorized dealer to install or remove the ZED 2 crankset.
- Before placing the crank assembly in the frame, check that the left-hand bearing is properly fitted
and tightened in the left-hand side of the frame and that no part of the assembly pre-fitted on the
crank assembly is missing (see figure 1).
- The chainrings do not interfere with the kinematics of inserting the crank assembly into the
frame. The crank assembly may be fitted on the frame with or without its flanges.
IMPORTANT:
- Dust, clean and grease the crank shell's bearing faces using the recommended grease.
- Never wash your bicycle using a pressure washer. Pressurised water, even from a watering hose, can get inside
the crank shell, despite the sealing gaskets, and cause irreparable damage to the components and bearings of the
ZED 2 crank assembly. Wash your crank assembly when it is fitted to your bicycle; clean the carbon parts carefully
using a soft cloth, water and mild soap.
- Do not leave the ZED 2 crank assembly inside a car parked in the sun or close to a radiator or other heat sources.
