7. Basic operation

7.1 Preparing food

WARNING! Risk of material damage!
Do not use the device to chop particularly hard food
such as bones or nutmegs.
• Wash and clean vegetables, fruit and herbs.
• Remove stems (e.g. from herbs), hard peels (e.g. from
nuts) and parts which you do not wish to process (e.g.
apple seeds).
• Use fresh herbs in a dry condition.
• Remove sinews, bones and gristle from the meat.
• Remove the cheese rind.
• Process cheese and meat only if they are well cooled.
• Soft cheese (e.g. mozzarella) can also be briefly fro-
zen.
• For processing with the blade assembly 9 and in the
mini crusher 16 + 17, cut the food into small pieces of
a similar size.
• For processing with discs 6, 5 cut the food up until it is
so small that it fits into the central food chute (midi
food pusher 2 removed). Food with a long shape
(such as carrots, cucumbers, courgettes) can be pro-
cessed whole. These are placed upright into the food
chute. They should fill the width of the food chute as
much as possible so that they are unable to fall over.
• For processing with the French fries disc 7 the potatoes
must fit into the large food chute so that they will not
protrude beyond the MAX mark on the food chute of
the lid 4. If necessary, cut the potatoes into suitable
pieces.
• For processing with the citrus press 19 + 21 select
ripe citrus fruits. These have more juice. Cut the citrus
fruits across the segments in half.
Note
• The sealing ring 15 must
be inserted.
